The town, which dates back to the 13th century, when Walser mountain farmers settled there, offer fantastic views of the Rhine valley as it is set up in the mountains.

Whether you decide to book a hotel room in Liechtenstein in summer or winter, there is plenty to do in the beautiful town of Triesenberg.

Exploring the peaks

The mountains provide a host of all-round activities for tourists staying in hotels near Triesenberg. The nearby village of Steg has a cross-country skiing centre and toboggan run, while Silum is the perfect place to start off on a hike and take in the stunning mountain scenery.

Malbun is a great winter sports destination, with cross-country and downhill skiing centres, snowboarding schools and a Fun Park. In the summer, it has an alternative recreation programme.

Whatever the season, a trip on the Sareis Chairlift is a must for anyone staying in Triesenberg hotels. The lift takes you up to the Sareiserjoch mountain at a height of 2,000m, where you can either relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery from the restaurant or use it as a starting point for hikes up the Augstenberg or the Naafkopf.

There is a wonderful view of the valley and if an uphill walk does not appeal, you could walk down the Sareis mountain into the valley instead.
